Standart SSD constantly overloaded, Windows 7 problem or HW problem?

so I need some help with a laptop problem. Or a Windows 7 problem. I'm not even sure where the problem lies yet.
I'm an experienced, I'd argue advanced, computer user, but I don't know what's going on. I suspect it might be a borked SSD, but not sure.I have a Vizio Thin+Light CT14-A1 (old laptop, but good enough) and it worked great for a while. I removed bloatware, tweaked graphical settings to have everything run faster and all was well. Then it went to shit.
My laptop has only 4GB of RAM (which is fine for browsing and text editing), so it occasionally needs to use my SSD as memory swap space. But while Windows Resource Monitor shows plenty of free RAM (for example right now I have 62% used), I have "99% Highest Active Time" on the Disk Activity tab in the Resource Monitor. I'm not downloading anything, not moving any files anywhere, nothing special. Downloads take forever to complete (in uTorrent completed downloads will often have hundreds of completed pieces that are queued to write to disk), applications take forever to launch, basically everything's slow as hell.If I thought a simple reinstall would fix it, I'd do that. But I don't think it's an OS problem, but a hardware issue. I've tested my memory both with the MS diagnostic tool and with third party tools. I've run checkdisk on my SSD and it also seems fine. I'm confused. The mSATA SSD I'm using is from Alibaba, which doesn't have to mean anything necessarily, but yeah.Any help? Or if I need to add additional information by running any specific tools?I'm hoping someone can explain what's happening and, if it's an OS problem, offer a tweak/solution. Or if it's my SSD confirm that I need a new SSD (don't want to spend money for nothing). Hoping it's not a motherboard or similar problem, cause December's expensive enough without needing a new laptop.

Please help

I didn't find the right solution from the internet.
